Skidmore Contemporary Art may be new to Palm Desert, but it has been a favorite of art lovers since its founding in 1998 in Malibu, CA. An anchor tenant gallery at Santa Monica’s Bergamot Station for fourteen years, Skidmore Contemporary Art moved to El Paseo in February of 2024.
Though known for a focus on realist and photorealist painters, Lia Skidmore states “I’m delighted to have a gallery program that is as organic and creative as the artists themselves.” Rather than a pervasive visual style, what distinguishes the art at Skidmore Contemporary is a hip sense of beauty and optimism.
In addition to the exhibition program, the gallery provides collectors with art advisory services and art market analysis for the discreet acquisition and resale of works of American Post-War and Contemporary Art.
We are located on El Paseo between Sage Lane and Ocotillo Drive. Parking is ample.
